Dogs for Adoption

We’ve got a variety of dogs, waiting for their happy ever after.

Meet them below.

POLO

We’d like everyone to meet our lovely Polo!

Polo is our 5 year old large crossbreed deaf dog who came to us when the owners were no longer able to care for her. She arrived with a 1 week old puppy who has since been adopted. Polo is now on the search for a forever home of her own.

Polo gets on well with other dogs and likes to go out walking nicely on her lead with other dogs from the centre. Because of her deafness, Polo has been learning different hand signals for different commands, which the staff at the centre have been working with her to practice.

Staff from the centre have described Polo as ‘kind’ and are really looking forward to her finding a family who will be able to take the time to understand and work with her to get her to her full potential. We’d really like Polo’s future adopters/fosterers to have experience with large breeds and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of a deaf dog.

We feel Polo can be rehomed with 16+ children but no other pets.

Polo has a lot of potential for the right people and if you would like to find out more about Polo and what she needs in a home then please do not hesitate to get in contact with our Foster Coordinator on 07469 760975 or email a perfect match form in to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Bobby

Meet Bobby! Our handsome, Collie X Lab who is now ready to find his forever home.

Bobby is a sweet and friendly boy who is still very active, despite his age. He enjoys his walks and he isn't fazed by anything, noises or traffic. He walks lovely on the lead, enjoys sniffing and loves playing with his toys, balls especially.

Bobby is overweight at the moment so new owners would need to continue with reducing his weight and keeping him healthy.

He is looking for his forever retirement home with someone who can continue his weight loss and who is a round a lot of the day to give him the help he needs to thrive. He also needs an adult only home with no other animals.

If you are interested in Bobby, please send a completed perfect match form to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

WOODY

Meet Woody, our 7-month old Collie X Lurcher!

Woody is now searching for his forever family after receiving lots of TLC in his loving foster home.

He is a very friendly, playful and intelligent young boy who loves people, contact and interaction. He is also very active, loving his walks and lots of playtime. His foster family describes him as a confident and gentle boy who is a pleasure to have around.

Woody has recently been diagnosed with AVP-D which is treated with medication and he is also hard of hearing/deaf however none of this affects him in the slightest. We would encourage people to do their own research on his diagnosis as it is a condition that can be adequately controlled.

As he is still so young, he is looking for an active household who is around for most of the day and can continue his positive reward based training, although he has mastered his toilet training! He hasn’t been left alone in his foster home so this will need to be worked on slowly and positively. He is an intelligent and inquisitive boy who is very receptive of his training.

We feel Woody can be rehomed with another friendly and active dog and children 8+ who are respectful, but no cats or small animals.

If you can offer Woody the home he deserves, please send a completed perfect match form to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

JUNIOR

Meet Junior, our sweet 9 month old crossbreed who is now ready to find his forever home!

Junior is a lovely young boy who enjoys human contact and interaction. He also loves his food and treats which could be a great way for new owners to build a trusting bond with him.

He is a clever boy who responds well to positive reward based training, this would need to continue in his new home to help him become a well-rounded adult dog.

Junior is looking for someone to show him new things slowly and at his pace, with guidance, encouragement and reassurance.

He needs a patient household and someone who is around for most of the day to help him adjust to home life, relax and continue to grow, offering him routine and consistency.

We feel Junior might be able to live with another friendly and compatible dog, depending on the experience of his new owners. We feel he should live in an adult only household with no other pets.

If you can offer Junior the home he deserves, please send a completed perfect match form to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Cats for Adoption

We’ve got a variety of cats, waiting for their happy ever after.

Meet them below.

CHIHIRO

Meet Chihiro, an 8 year old girl with an adventurous spirit. Chihiro is seeking a forever home where she can weave her own tale of wonder and friendship.

Much like how Chihiro navigated the mysterious world of spirits, our Chihiro is cautiously curious, taking her time to explore her new environment. She might shy away at first, much like Chihiro hiding her identity in the bustling bath house, but after a few sniffs and she'll emerge as the loving companion you're looking for.

While she may not show off like No-Face or demand attention like Yubaba, Chihiro subtle ways of seeking affection are endearing.

As Chihiro has faced witches, dragons and spirits we feel she can be rehomed with friendly cats (with a slow introduction), dogs that wont chase and children 10+.

Adopting Chihiro means embracing a journey full of gentle purrs, soft nuzzles. She's ready to transform your home into a place where everyday feels like an enchanting story straight out of 'Spirited Away'.

MOLLY

Meet Molly, our sweet 3-year-old girl who is searching for a really special forever home. When first in our care, Molly was extremely nervous scared of everyone. As she was so afraid and not making much progress in the cattery, we found her a foster home so she had space and time to decompress and feel more safe. Molly spent 5 weeks in her foster home doing what she had done in the cattery, which was hiding with her face pressed into a wall. She would hide all day every day and would only come out in the early hours of the morning to eat and use her litter tray. (This was caught on a cat cam that the fosterer cleverly thought of setting up) Something had to be done! So we brought in a special cat friend to see if a friendly feline friend could help bring her out of her shell. It did the opposite... Poor Molly stopped eating with the new cat in the same house, so the experiment had to be called off and her feline friend had to go. After this, Molly's fosterer wondered if Molly would benefit from some extra nutrition, so started her on a vitamin paste. After the introduction of another cat didnt work, Molly seemed to realise that life was actually not that bad after all. While she is still skittish and scared, her fosterer reports that Molly will finally come out for her food more than once a day, and accept the odd stroke when food is involved! She has ventured into other areas of the house and is finally making some progress towards a happy life. Molly’s future adopters need to be able to understand that Molly needs to be able to settle in on her own terms. A spare room that she could start in would be ideal for her to retreat to when she feels overwhelmed. She also needs a quiet, pet free home with no children. Please can someone who is patient and understanding apply for this sweet girl. She has a long way to go but is finally on the right path to being there. If you are interested, please send a completed perfect match form to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Toni

Say meow to Toni! Toni is a 1-year-old confident and friendly girl who is looking for her forever home. She originally came to us as a stray so not a lot is known about her background.

Toni is a confident and friendly feline who loves to be the centre of attention. Her playful nature shines through in everything she does – whether she’s chasing after her favourite toys, exploring every nook and cranny off her space, or watching the world go by from her pod door.

Toni has a special love for treats, this would be a great way for her new family to bond with her. Toni loves being around people and she is quick to come out of her pod to say hello to all the staff.  She will meow for attention and even weave in and out of your legs as she walks. She's very agile, and has very sharp reflexes, often catching the toy within seconds of initiating play.

Toni is quite an inquisitive girl who likes to explore around new areas, which she does happily and quite confidently with no issues.

Here at the centre, we feel Toni can go to a home with children of primary school age who have lived with a cat before and know to take it nice and slow as Toni can sometimes be spooked by loud/big/fast/sudden movements. Toni is not to be rehomed with another cat or dog.

If you are interested in giving Toni her forever home, please send in completed match forms to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Rambo

ON TEMP HOLD

Rambo is our 3-year-old friendly boy who has been in foster for over a month but is now ready to find his forever home!

Rambo’s fosterers say he is the sweetest cat! He is very curious and enjoys cuddling up on the bed with his temporary humans. He is really east to love!

Rambo may be a little hand-shy at first but after a few sniffs he settles and is happy to make friends. Rambo is definitely foodie so treats would be a great way for his new owners to bond with him.

Since being in his foster home he has really come out of his shell! He is super playful, his favourites include string toys and rattle balls.

Rambo would need to be the only pet in the household but he can be rehomed with cat savvy children 8+.

If you are interested in sweet Rambo, please send completed perfect match forms to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Tamale

ON TEMP HOLD

Meet Tamale – The Sweet and Shy Star Ready to Shine in Her Forever Home!

Tamale is a tender-hearted juvenile kitten who has come a long way since arriving at the cattery. Once a nervous kitten, she has grown into a more confident and curious companion, thanks to her love of treats and positive interactions, which helped her overcome her shyness and learn to trust.

Now a gentle and affectionate cat, Tamale shows her love with purrs and head rubs. Her curiosity is blossoming as she starts to explore new spaces, and while she hasn’t fully embraced interactive play yet, she shows promise in a calm home environment. Resilient and sweet, she recovers quickly from being startled and returns for more affection when she feels safe.

Tamale needs a quiet, stable environment with experienced cat owners who understand shy cats. She’ll do best with patient, respectful family members (secondary school-aged kids or older) who can give her the time and space she needs to feel secure. She’s open to sharing her home with a laid-back feline friend but would prefer a dog-free household.

Tamale is waiting for you! If you are interested, please send in a completed perfect match form to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Megumi &

Nobara

ON TEMP HOLD

Cat Post.jpg

Meet our sorcerers Megumi and Nobara! Two 5-month old kittens that are ready for their next mission either together or separately!

Megumi is a reserved boy, that has settled well into cattery life. When he first came to us he was scared and wary of people, running away to hide while hissing. But with enough time, love and patience he soon learnt to trust people. While he still remains a little shy of new people and new things, a calm and slow approach is best. Megumi is a typical kitten, full of energy and wanting to play. He is happy to play alone, with his sister Nobara or even with people!

Nobara is a sweet girl, that has settled well in the cattery. On arrival, Nobara was scared and unsure of what was happening, choosing to run away and hide. But with enough love and encouragement, she soon learnt that people are nice and enjoys the company. Nobara still is a little shy of new people, but with love and patience, she will soon be your friend. She spends a lot of her day playing in her pod, either with her brother Megumi, with a person or alone.

Due to the shy nature of these two kittens, we feel that they would benefit from a house where introductions can be slow and positive. They can go to a home either together or seperatly, a home with another friendly cat and/ or a cat-savvy dog that will not chase. We also feel that they can go to a home with children of any age, that understand a cats behaviour and know to take it slowly.

If you would like to apply for either one or both of these kittens, please fill out a perfect match form and send it to us on info@rspcasouthport.co.uk

Tayto

ON TEMP HOLD

Everyone say a warm hello to our little Tayto! She is a 17-week old kitten, that is ready for her next adventure.

Tayto came to us confident and affectionate, despite the not too great start she has had. She would cry for any amount of attention from anyone walking past, because of this she was moved into a foster home where she has flourished! When arriving in her foster home, Tayto was confident to explore her new area and finding her favourite spots to lie.

Tayto is your typical playful kitten, running around her foster home and playing with anything she thinks is a toy. She also loves her food and treats, happily taking them from your hand. So a home full of kitty toys and treats would be perfect for this little lady. Tayto loves people so much, that she wants as much company as possible! When leaving her, she does a little meow but after a short moment, she will settle and curl up in her chosen spot. When coming back to Tayto, she eagerly greets you with lots of meows and chirps, almost as if she is telling you all about her day and plans for the two of you!

In her foster home, Tayto is living with another two cats and a dog. She has interacted with the dog a few times, but has mainly kept her distance and watched from afar. If Tayto is to live with another dog, she would benefit from plenty of slow and positive introductions until she is settled. We also feel that Tayto would benefit from a quiet room to live in as she settles into her new home, that has plenty of hiding spaces for her to curl up and rest in.

Tayto can go to a home with another cat, a cat-savvy dog that knows not to chase and children of any age that understand cat’s behaviour and will be okay with a very playful kitten.

If you would like to apply for this girl, please send a competed perfect match from to info@rspcasouthport.co.uk
